1973 introduced the 4900 model with
the increased 4.9 liter quad-cam V8 now pushing well over 300
horsepower. The 1973 model also did away with the traditional
servo-assisted braking system in favor for Citroën’s proven high
pressure pump system. An upgraded air conditioning system was also
fitted that placed less stress on the engine and kept the cabin and
its passengers cool. Only 300 of the well featured Indy 4900’s
were produced, making them the rarest and most desired Indy
model.
The example featured here is finished in rare and desirable Blue
Ischia with an impeccably kept Parchment leather interior. This
stunning Maserati is among one of the finest examples we have had the
pleasure of offering the many years. It was recently acquired from a
prominent California Museum collection and comes fully documented
with its Maserati Classiche, books, original brochures and
more.
